A Feast of Singing at the Eastgate Theatre!

On Sunday 2 September 2007, Otsailan supported by Kingsland Primary School Choir performed a memorable and varied programme of songs to a packed auditorium. (Click here to view the programme)
The visitors impressed the audience by singing in a number of different languages including French, Basque (Click here), Spanish (Click here), Italian, English and Hebrew (Click here). Their encore, "Marie's Wedding", sung in Scots, delighted everyone present and evoked tumultous applause.
For their part, Kingsland Primary School Choir, led by Musical Directors Anne and Ian Rogers, offered a mainly Scottish theme with their programme but also added some French in their rendition of "Je Suis une Pizza". The pupils were warmly applauded by an appreciative audience.
The highlight of the evening was the Finale when both choirs gathered on stage to sing "Highland Cathedral". (Click here to hear "Highland Cathedral). This collaboration brought a memorable evening of cultural exchange with our "Twin Town", Hendaye, to a fitting end.
