Around Peebles

Peebles is set amidst beautiful countryside and a number of small towns and villages of historic interest. Traquair House was the home of the kings of Scotland when they came to visit their hunting forests in the Borders.
Many other places of interest are linked to famous Scottish writers such as Walter Scott and James Hogg. They were both closely associated with St Ronan's Wells at Innerleithen. There are a number of historic gardens around Peebles as well as the dramatic Neidpath Castle at the edge of the town.
The beautiful setting of St Mary's Loch provides a venue for various water sports. Being within 40 km of Edinburgh also adds to the attractions of the town.
